Objective

To evaluate the efficacy of the Protect 200 / Nano on reducing Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Methodology

The Protect 200 / Nano unit was placed inside a 68 litre plastic enclosure. The plastic enclosure and test set up was placed inside a biosafety cabinet. Clinical isolate of Mycobacterium tuberculosis was aseptically transferred into a sterile mycobacteria growth indicator tube (MGIT) and Lowenstein-Jensen (LJ) medium.

Summary of Results

The air sample collected from the test after being exposed to the Protect 200 / Nano showed no growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This shows that the device has effectively rendered all airborne Mycobacterium tuberculosisnon-viable.
